just wondered if someone could have a look at this and tell me if its ok for a nooby on a budget, thanks. MODO MAXI TRIPOD 785B, its from 7dayshop. thanks.
 
It looks like it wont support much weight so it depends on what you want to do with it, I've also read that it can be very unstable at full height.

It's really just for compacts and bridge cameras - take a look at the manfrotto 190 range. Morris Photo usually have a good range at excellent prices...
