HI,
I have been using a £30 tripod for a while now, however I now find myself using longer exposure and trying to gain perfect focus?
This can be achieved in perfect conditions, I hang my camera bag from it when windy and try use short lenses to keep the weight down when on tilt for portrait shots.
Can anyone recommend a decent, cost effective tripod?

It would be greatly appreciated to hear from an active photographer,
kind regards,
Drren

Hi Darren,

I recently did the opposite of what you're planning - I had a massively sturdy Manfrotto tripod and 3-way head which I found so heavy and long when folded I hardly ever used it.

As a consequence I started looking for something that was smaller to carry folded, lightweight and sturdy. These are not commonly available together. Eventually I settled on the Benro Travel Angel 2 with BH2 ball head and have to say am really pleased with it. So much so that I am now happy to carry it with me almost everywhere.

The tripod is well made and sturdy and has a hook for those times when the wind is severe enough to need to hang your bag underneath - although I haven't needed to do that yet - and the BH2 head easily copes with a D300/Sigma 150-500 combination without any creep.

Having this tripod has rekindled my interest in landscape photography again :)
