Looking to get a new tripod.Currently using an Argos cheap and cheerful.Needs to be able to hold 70 - 200 and want to try macro.Whats your thoughts or suggestions.Budget 150 ish but may stretch as i dont want to have to buy another tripod later thanks

For macro I think the Benbo range are great.

Can get into all sorts of positions and legs are sealed so ideal if working in mud or ponds

Another vote for Benbo from me, and maybe think about a geared head too. I have both and I wish I'd bought them years ago.

The manfrotto 190 is not bad with it's vertical/horizontal pole thingy.

I have got a donkeys years old Manfrotto 055, if the new ones are as durable must be worth a look
All parts are available as spares so could be kept going for years like mine

Redsnapper vote for me  They have the look, feel and build quality of the more expensive makes without the cost.

I got a Giottos MTL-8350B for around £155. I'm really pleased with it. It pretty lite but can be put into many different positions. Plus the center column can be positioned at 90 degrees to legs for macro.

Another vote for the redsnapper. Very well designed and constructed. Good customer service too..!
