Thanks for that... I think i'll go with ball head as well then.... One more question... Is there much difference between 284 and 283?

No problem.
I went for the 284 because it's a bit more compact for carrying being a four section leg design rather than three. I think the three leg version gives you a little more height extended but that's about it (I think). Load capacities are the same.

oh! I thought that.... Actually i was gonna go for 283 becos as you said it gives a little more height extended.... But I think it's more important for me to have a compact version so i'll buy the 284... thanks a lot again for you help.....

Well not one I can answer I'm afraid as although I've been an TP member for a while I only recently started posting
Perhaps someone else can chip in?

Actually I would have thought if you give the guys are Redsnapper a call they would probably know
