Can anyone recommend a tripod around the £50-£60 mark , its for my cannon 40D ,So needs to hold the weight of that
thanks

Have a look at the red snapper ones, just bought one my self and have been very happy with it so far, that's after taking the manfrotto one back after 1 use as it had something come loose.

What exactly came loose?

something in one of the legs came loose which rattled around and stopped the bottom leg from closing properly. wouldn't have minded but i had been really careful with it as i only bought it that day.

the red snapper is a lot better than the cheaper manfrotto i had and im glad i spent the extra £20

What lenses do you plan on using on it as that's something to consider too

Another Redsnapper advocate here.

Thanks for your recommendations , ive just ordered the very same tripod , looks like its worth the extra bit of money :)

I bought cheap and bought twice......

Get a decent one from the off, they are a key piece of equipment for many types of photography

i bought a redsnapper, the carbon one, very pleased, not the smallest but pretty light and comes with a case and a carry strap.

just back from Italy, used it extensively

(it too has a little hook at the bottom of the shaft to hang additional weight)
