Hi all,

I've recently upgraded from a 5D III to a IV. I used to have a Wimberley P-5 camera plate on the 5D III: https://www.tripodhead.com/products/camera-body-main.cfm and I have tried to attach the plate to the Mk IV, however it's almost as if the tripod screw recess into the body is shallower than the 5D III, I can't get it to secure, it feels like the screw needs to tighten up .5 - 1mm more to make a secure fixing. Once the tripod screw on the P-5 has been tightened as much as I'm happy to tighten it, the plate still moves.

So, a bit of a specific query, does anyone have a III and a IV AND a Wimberley P-5 or at least had the same issue?

Have you asked Wimberley??

No, just tried again tonight to fix it as I thought it was me being stupid the other day, it's so weird, I will drop them a line as well.

It's not uncommon for different cameras to have a slightly varying depth on the tripod bush, presumably depending on how much room there is inside the camera. And bolt lengths vary a bit too.

It's an easy fix, either with a washer underneath the head of the bolt to act as a spacer, or you might have to take a file to it. Or maybe Wimberley will send you a shorter bolt.
