Tripod in boot?

Yep and a monopod and a bean bag and tripod stool and netting.
Did somebody say 'mpg' ?

Do you guys carry a tripod in the boot of your car 9If you have a car) in case you see a good shot?

I am thinking of putting mine in the boot just in case.

No, a camera.

My boot has wellies, safety shoes, drinking water, car spares, monopod and tripod (no longer worth stealing after rough use in the sea)

I can't be asked to take the tripod out; not that much value in it now. Monopod is fairly useless unless you have one of the big white Ls. It is pain to set up, and more pain to fold back.

I used to keep a tripod in the boot, but don't bother now.

Found I never used it apart from when I planned to go out to do some photography. I do have a beanbag in there though, less weight and doesn't clunk about when I go round corners.

Might have to look at RedSnappers - are their QR plates compatible with Manfrotto's RC2 system?

Nope. Nothing else is compatible with that system. Redsnappers are more arca swiss style.

Going to put my cheap tripod in the boot tomorrow!

Monopod for me, and i always keep it extended a little and in my hand when walking back to the car, handy deterrent if someone is tempted by the kit

Never mind the tripod, I usually forget my camera!!!!!!!!!

Two tripods, two monopods, various boots and welllies in various states of filthiness, bag of deer food, some stump licker, varying bags of bird food and feeders, two old nest boxes, bolt croppers, tree loppers, bush saw, fencing tool, various traps............Get the idea............

Doubled up,sorry.

what can I say, I get lonely

I think we should keep the thread going as a testament to koolpc - breaker of some random rule I didn't notice

Rule 352(A)...Though shalt not be a nob.

and

Rule 69865 (F).......Don`t pee the admin guys off too much.

:D

Yes a cheapie (cost £4 secondhand) but it does the business if push comes to shove and I won't be too gutted if it gets nicked.

Brilliant, 3 pages about tripods in a boot when some critique threads struggle to get 3 replies

lets see if we can get to the end of page three!

Have tripod in the boot but can't remember the last time I used it.

No becuase my boot is usually always empty, and it will slide around if I fancy having a spirited drive (sports car). Also I very rarely ever use a tripod.

However I cannot believe nobody has given a mention to the Gorilla pod? Its a great little item, very easy to carry and ideal when you need to travel light, e.g city break or when you just don't want to lug a mono or tri pod around. Its not ideal but it does a good job for the fact its tiny and doesn't weigh much at all. You just get dodgy looks from airport security when they find it in your bag, 'no its not a sex toy its a camera mini tri pod' :)

The tripod always stays in the boot, but i'm useless at remembering the camera!
