tripod help

hey guys i have a budget of 80 for a nice sturdy tripod from my nikon d50 any suggestions :amstupid:

I would suggest looking at the Velbon range or looking at a secondhand Manfrotto. I have an 190XPROB with a ball head which I'm very pleased with. Bought secondhand (like new) for about £90

thats the total budget the mrs will let me spend on a tripod and head i might be able to stretch it a bit but not much

the last one doesn't include a head - you'd need to buy a head (£30 - £ 300)

the manfrotto says not currently available.

You might have to stretch the budget a bit to get a decent head, but you should be able to get a set of 190 legs for around £80, which are well worth having, but you'll still need a head.

Redsnapper tripod for £50 and I have a Manfotto 804 RC2 that I would let you have for £30 + postage, sorted for £85...........

Look at the wimpy 1Kg load capacity of that Manfrotto Modo Maxi and put your card away.

I have one of those, I only use it for very occasional use whilst travelling very light, they are ok, but don`t expect miracles from them.

These are good VFM, Click Me, I have one and like it.

I think that the best advice is to go to a shop and try out the options. My second piece of advice is to buy a carbon fibre tripod and understand exactly what sort of photography you intend to do and buy an appropriate head.

You are able to knock in a panel pin with a sledge hammer, it is not as good as a small hammer. Buy the right stuff the first time, it is cheaper than selling and buying again. If you need to buy the right bits and you do not have the money, save up for it. How do I know this? I have a great Manfrotto and head that do almost what I want, unfortunately I rarely lug the thing around because it weighs a ton.

I NEED Carbon Fibre legs.
