Tripod help

I have a Fuji Film Fine Pix S5600 Camera, Im thinking of buying a tripod for night shots.Do all tripods fit all cameras ? I dont want to buy one and find out it does not fit.

Any reccomendations ?

Generally they fit all, though some have 2 thread sizes. I think the standard thread is 6mm. I recently got a Manfrotto monopod. It has the 2 size option, 6mm and 10mm I think the larger is.

You'll be safe with the likes of Manfrotto (more expensive but bloody good) or Velbon.

Some of the cheaper Velbon ones'll be ideal for your camera. I started with the Fuji S5000 a few years ago with a Velbon £25.00 pod.

The threads are imperial....1/4" UNC and 3/8" UNC.
