been looking at tripods, but at a budget of around £80.one of the one's i've come across is the manfrotto 718B,is this any good or is it's use limited?are there any others worth looking at,or you can recommend within my budget prefferably.

thanks in advance...

It maybe worth PM'ing Bubbs, I know she bought one last year for around that price and was very happy with it. I can't find her post about it, but I am sure she won't mind a pm.

when thinking of a tripod, bare in mind the weight of your camera and it's biggest lens......no point having a light tripod if your 30d and 300 f2.8 makes it topple over

The manfrotto 190 series with a budget head is not much more than your budget and is a sturdier beast....but still not too heavy to hump around.

I have the 718 SHB - a bit shorter than the 718B (123cm) so packs down small for carying in a rucksack (~40cm closed height). It is pretty solid and you can hang a bag or two off it to steady it. But if you don't intend carrying a tripod far i'd suggest something a bit more substantial.

If you're interested I can flog you my one as it isn't getting much use.

thanks for your help guys..much appreciated:thumbs:,but went to swansea this morning and got myself a jessops own make tripod..reduced from £50 down to £36.i know it isn't the best out there, but it will do what i need it for at the moment, and i can always upgrade as and when i need to,plus i now have some dosh left to get myself a remote unit also
