Tripod help!

I am looking at buying a tripod. Should I spend lots on one or would a cheaper one be ok to start with?

I found Camlink TP2500 for £15.00 delivered.

Or should I go for a better/more pricey one. Money is not tight so it really makes no difference to me which.

Just the advice would be good.

That one doesn't quote what weight of camera/lens it can take, which is a bit worrying.

Not as worrying as the 1 star rating ;)

Do a search for Redsnapper on here, they seem quite popular budget tripods.

With tripods most people make the same mistake thinking a cheap one from Argos or 7dayshop will do only to find its like attaching your camera to a blancmange! - I bought a set of Redsnapper legs for work & must say for around £50 they are hard to beat & a 'branded' set of that quality would be hundreds of pounds - The Redsnapper heads seem to be equally as good quality so for about £100 (less 10% discount Joe gives to TPF members) you get a setup to last a lifetime ... Most people on here have gone for a redsnapper and are very good value for money for what you are getting
 
I bought a redsnapper a couple of weeks ago after advice on this forum and its a great piece of kit at a fab price. :thumbs:
 
The cheaper Calumet tripods are pretty solid.
 
I bought a 7 day shop one for £13.99. Fine as a stand fora flash gun but thats it. The head is flexible and weak as hell, absolute rubbish and a waste of the planet's resources! Will be getting either manfrotto or Redsnapper.
