How tall should a tripod be for shooting portraits? For example for head and shoulders I guess you get the subject to sit and use what ever tripod you've got? for a full length shot would you need to get to about the models eye level?

I saw a webinar a while back that suggested shooting around chest level for a more flattering look .

Don't you risk getting a little too much chin if your subject has a say two or more? :)

Lol not sure , I've not put it into practice yet . Although the webnar was on posing , so who knows .

Lens at eye level, focus on eyes, or nearest eye. Not rules, but good starting point.

Thanks guys I started watching the webinar and the wife chucked me off because I was hogging the wifi bandwidth, I'll watch the rest of when the wife isn't trying to watch something on the iPad.

Going to need a much taller tripod then, thanks Richard.

If you have Mozilla Firefox installed there is an add on (FREE) that allows you to download and save the content from most anything streaming to watch later.
I use it at night then morning it's there waiting to be watched.
