Evening all, I could do with a decent tripod for my photos and occasional video work, but something within a budget...

I'd prefer not to spend over £150, but would love a fluid head if possible. I'm using a fairly ancient Slik tripod at the moment, but it's almost impossible to get a smooth movement with it during video panning! Not to mention the fact it weighs a ton...

So, reasonably lightweight, fluid head, nice at stable - under £150 if possible. Achievable?

I bought a cheap Velbon fluid head recently for video (can't remember the exact model but will check) and for £35 it's really good. I'm using an a6000 so I'm not sure how good it would be with a heavier camera, but it's pleasantly surprised me. I'm using it on a set of Vanguard legs

I still prefer a ball head for stills so I swap them around depending on what I'm doing.

Heavy is GOOD! The heavier the better when your going to be moving the head about. Manfrotto 128rc fluid like.
The head gives the smoothness, the legs the stability.
