Yes. Make sure that you remove any adaptor thread inserts that might be fitted. Actually, many sets of tripod legs have just a 3/8" thread on top - this is to fit whichever head you choose to them, the head will have a 1/4" thread to fit it to the base of the camera, possibly using a QR (quick release) plate.
