Hi All,

Quick question really, I purchased a tripod (Manfrotto 055XPROB) off eBay it has taken nearly 3 weeks to get to me, only after I reported the seller to eBay and paypal for having received anything. The problem I have is that they have sent me the wrong tripod, I have been sent a Manfrotto 475B which seems to be a lot heavier than the 055XPROB and far more difficult to lug around, what do I do, count my blessings that I received a tripod at all or send it back and hope that I get the right one back, this option does concern me a little considering the hassle it's been so far.

Advice welcomed

Regards

Craig

I guess you've got better value for your money but that's not going to be much consolation if lugging around almost twice the weight becomes a pain in the proverbial.

It would cost you a fair bit to send back even if the seller is UK based. My advice would be to sell it on yourself and buy the one you want if you can't get on with it.

Hi,

that looks more like it's designed for video work, I would sell it and buy what you wanted elsewhere, looks like about £170 new so should be able to get enough to buy the one you were after.

Mike.

Edit: I see Steep just beat me to the same solution, great minds think alike eh!

If i do keep it does anyone what carry strap would cope with this i have had a quick look at the bags for this one which are expenisve, sorry for the question but cant seem to find one anywhere,

Cheers

First of all I would email the seller and tell them, it may be a genuine mistake. Depending on their reply ( if they do reply) you will know what to do next.
No reply or any hassle, report to Paypal and ebay, you should be protected and eventually you will get a refund.
If they do reply and offer to send the right one, insist on a postage refund, it was their fault they sent the wrong one, why should you pay the replacement postage?
Or, as its a more expensive tripod, try and sell it for the cost of a new Manfrotto 055XPROB, that might be the best and quickest option.

:agree:
I have a Manfrotto 475B but wouldn't dream of carrying it around, I also have a 190XPROB and that's a pain at a third the weight :D

I'd just sell it on. Then shop around for a bargain..

How much do you want for it?
