hope you guys can help

i need to get a tripod before the weekend, was hoping to get a second hand pro model but i have run out of time.

has anyone got any thoughts on this tripod? price is ok and it seems really light which is a bonus.

im using a 7d with either a 24-70 or 70-200 Lens.

guessing this is going to be rubbish for video work but i have pretty much decided that getting a tripod just for that at a later stage would be better then getting one that tries to fullfill both roles.

http://www.jessops.com/online.store/products/82276/show.html

cheers

Sorry, can't get your link to work

Double strange both links work for me  :)

I've been looking at this set-up, seems a little to good to be true, under a ton, carbon fibre and with a head.

Would also like any input from anyone with experience of this tripod please

Sorry Jun, didn't see your post, I was posting at the same time.

I saw one in Jessops, I certainly wouldn't put a 7d and any 70-200 on it!!

...has anyone got any thoughts on this tripod?...

I'd class it in the category of CF tripods for people more interested in saying they own a CF tripod rather than requiring the benefits a good one brings. It's got the usual poor strength to weight ratio cheaper ones have and doesn't look like a great head to me.

Why not give yourself a slap for leaving only two days to get one, suck it up and buy a Gitzo:D. Choice of head I leave to you;)

Not sure why you think a second tripod is required- personally, if all you're using for video is the 7d I'd buy a fluid head for my shiny Gitzo tripod and just change heads when required although nothing to stop you only using the fluid head for stills and video- they can be a bit heavy (get one that takes a bit of weight so can hold tight) but in the interests of saving cash can be done and as you have just saved a ton of money from buying another tripod and head, a Gitzo is now an easy investment:lol:
