tripod advice

Have you tried a forum search? I'm sure this question has been answered quite recently.

You will get recommendation of redsnapper legs (They are very good) - does the 393 head (That's gimble style isn't it?) fasten straight ontop of a tripod or do you need a head on the tripod?
 
055 or 190 XPROB would be my recommendation if it's sturdy you want.

To be really sure, you need to weigh your setup and then you'll have a better idea. Manfrotto do, and I 'm guessing it's competitors will also, quote maximum load capabilities of all their tripods & heads on their website.

Unless someone's using the exact same setup as you, you won't get the correct answer, but a little check will confirm all for you ;)

I have at home a 190Pro and a Redsnapper TRI283 (Look in the for sale section here, Redsnapper are an authorised trader)
I was looking for something else as the 190pro centre pole allowed for too much movement when using a heavy setup. The Redsnapper legs are very well built - and go higher than the 190pro and when fully extended are still very sturdy. The finishing on the redsnapper is not quite as good as the manfrotto but the increased ruggedness and stability more than make up for it.
 
Not sure what you want to spend but I had a 055prob and it was not man enough for my 1dmk2 with the column extended with it down it was ok.

I have the 055 and with the legs fully extended I have never had to extend the centre column and is tall enough IMO for most situations.
 
I am surprised no one has yet recommended Gitzo. Sure it is the most expensive but will also last lifetime and you will never need to upgrade (might save some money!). there was a time i was looking for a good alternative for Gitzo in Asia. Then I found Benro and Feisol. Not quite as good but very good value. I recently bought used Feisol for a very good price and like it more than manfrotto 190 I have used so far. Carbonfiber ones are good in cold weather as they do not get cold to touch and they are light. Good choice would be gitzo basalt ones, as in your case weight is probably not the main concern - you will need it to balance a rather heavy setup.
