looking for a e-TTL flash for canon 60D and canon 1000D. seems to be two choicea around the same price, the YN468 ii and the Triopo TR-970. the Triopo actually looks nicer but my main issue is concerning shooting slave without triggers.
In brief im doing a carnival event with a stand and will have a photo booth/backdrop setup and want to shoot with one flash on camera in ttl and then trigger second flash from which will be offcamera on a stand from this first flash. now im not even sure this can be done with the YN but with the triopo it looks possible. also the triopo has what looks like mains power connector too ( figure 8 2 pin socket on back) . problem is im firstly on a strict budget ( around £100 both flashes seem to be around the £55 mark) and second its been 30 years sicne I did any flash shooting and it was wayyy different back then.
so anyone familiar with either of these flashes ( I cant afford any more money for triggers ) and particularly the Triopo TR-970?

I recently bought a Triopo TR-980 as a temporary flash to replace a broken Yongnuo.

I haven't used it in a professional capacity yet, just taken some test shots. The quality is surprisingly good for such a cheap flash.

The only thing I'd point out is that the TR-970 doesn't have a zoom head. I'd also be worried about how effective the wireless slave flash is if you are shooting outdoors. Personally I'd prefer the security of using dedicated triggers but I appreciate you are on a budget.

thanks for response. very surprised the triopo doesn't have a zoom head considering its supposed to be higher spec than the YN468. Still though outdoor its under a gazebo so distance is only around 10-15 feet max from subject
