Trimming prints help

Hi All,

I have ordered a set of prints in a4 size and have had then printed on a larger than a4 size photo paper from dscl so I could use their dp2 lustre paper (they don't do it in a4 size)

So what I now need to do is trim these prints down (cut off the white edges) and am wondering what is the best way of doing this?

My sister has a guillotine which she uses for cutting card for greetings cards and so on (works perfectly for what she uses it for) but it does not seem to give a nice pure clean cut on photo paper, which i require 100%

These prints are to be surface mounted to mount board read for my RPS submission so have to bee 100% fit and finish.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

It depends if this is a one-off or if you plan to trim prints on a regular basis.

I have used guillotines and cheap cutters as well as a mat and craft knife and in the end invested in a Rotatrim (M24) which I have now had for about 6 years.

It wasn't cheap but it is bomb-proof, self sharpening and gets lots of use. It is faultless at doing what you are looking for.
 
Thanks all for the responses. I don't think it will be something I do too regularly.

I have been out and purchased what can only be described as a scalpel and some blades and I am using the straight edge of my logan mount cutter. Seems to be doing the trick very nicely indeed.
