Triggers

you can get ones that look the same as them on ebay karen but much cheaper. As with anything you get what you pay for but providing you put new batteries in as soon as you get them they should be reliable enough. the batteries they come with are nearly alway on their last legs.

Bought myself a set of ebay hotshoe triggers for 15 squids and a second receiver for a tenner. Haven't had much chance to use them but so far much more flexible than IR as they go round corners :)

I believe that Pocket Wizards are the mutt's but a tad pricey.

Yep I had the exact same ones Karen

I thought they were crap as they didn't fire every 3-10 goes, very random and very annoying - and actually gave them to Janice here!!!

and they are firing every time.........cheers Dave!!

Here's some info. These are what I have, and seem to work pretty well. Mine cost roughly £7 for the transmitter, and about £5 each for the receivers! Plus postage.

Receivers are either PC-sync only, or hotshoe. Regardless, the whole set up can be modified, including fitting a 433 MHz antenna to the transmitter to improve performance/range.

How to modify

And so this set up virtually cost nothing (i.e. around £30-40)...

Oh, and this might make for interesting reading... link. I don't regret buying a set, they're a good introduction to wireless setups, and cost enough to take a risk with.

Yeah, absolutely nothing really, when you think about it. I've used mine round corners in pitch black underground basements, outdoors... all kinds of places, and they don't usually fail me.
