Yes
dont come to my door asking for money with the threat of damage to my property if i dont comply... (sounds like bayliffs...)

sorry but i do not think its a good laugh, it scares the elderly and p***es off alot of folks.

anyone else hate trick or treaters?

I don't get the whole money thing. I must say in America it really works. You go to houses get a load of candy and go home. You usually only do it up to the age of 13 whereby you become too cool and then you have to wait till you have kids to do it again. The worse we ever did was TP (that is toilet paper) a tree in front of a house of a girl we didn't like. Guess times they are a changin.

My daughter just told 2 kids off for having no costumes and gave them no sweets. Little buggers stole our pumpkin with candle that was beside the door!

I'd guess someone else has that smashed on the doorstep by now.... it was well past its sell by date and a bit mouldy and oozing

So no I don't hate them.....unless they touch the cars outside...

I've been busy all day dismantling Mach 3 Turbos and inserting them into apples

OK, not really. But God have mercy on anyone who dares try to blackmail money out of me tonight. My spray can is full of water and I'm not afraid to use it (as a certain 8yr old demon found out last week - Oh how I laughed as he fell head first over my gate while desperately trying to escape). :nono:

I do hate it!!!! :annoyed: Maybe I'm just a misery!

Robert was that the pumpkin! The one with two faces!!!

The swine!!!

as a kid we went to a haloween party, bobbed some apples. ate donuts off strings and didnt bother people around us, bet no one does that round here

I'm actually sitting upstairs on my computer, doing some photoshoping with all the lights off downstairs ignoring the doorbell which is ringing every 10 BLOODY minutes! Sorry I don't get the trick or treat thing! Guess I'm a misery guts too
PS: My car's safely in the garage and I didn't do a pumpkin!

I don't mind them unless they haven't made an effort.
My kids used to go round all costumed up with blood and bandages
and used to come back with loads of sweets.

We only give out sweets, and sometimes get comments from some of the older kids, because they expect money.

I'm tempted to do the sprout covered in chocolate, or maybe a couple of jalapino peppers just for a bit or role reversal on the trick or treat. :D

i parked my car outside someone elses house... i hope they give them sweets......

Its great for the kids they love it.
All you get is a few knocks on the door, just keep a bowl of sweets handy and everyone is happy.

For those who dont like it - go out! Its one day every year!!! Unlike Jehovas witnesses who never stop!!!!!!

we had some sweets for our trick or treaters.....had two lots ring the bell so far, the first lot were lucky but then Barry found the sweets and the second lot only had a couple each, I put my hand deep into their bags and made a bit of noise hoping it sounded like more than two haribo eggs landing in their bags...as they left I heard them say 'what was that she gsve us?'...'nuffin much' said the other lad  hope we don't get any more of the blighters!

That's really funny Marianne  Well I guess Barry's had a good Haloween ;)

Check for bannanas in your exhaust pipe in the morning!

that reminds me ive got a pack of haribo upstairs, i think ill eat them upstairs later :D :D

i wanted to watch bluesbrothers tonight but its gonna get interupted constantly so ill have to wait until tomorrow

I hate it.
I never answer the door I just watch them from my kitchen window and if any of them were to damage anything I'd kill them. They make me so angry. Halloween is the worst day of the year.

nah where i live they wouldnt do something so trivial, they'd either nick the alloys or torch the entire thing!

PMSL! That's so funny mate!

ok, I'm sitting here in my room in the dark as I'm on the ground floor and my window is at the front of the house. :P

Why am I doing this on my birthday?

Sorry Nath, do you like Haloween or not, can't really tell :D

Oh mate :( Happy birthday! :woot:

kamion you should out celebrate your birthday, problem solved.

Don't mind the little ones - under about 11 - but we're not home until too late for them. I must admit we don't bother answering the door from about 7pm onwards as after that they're all older kids who don't really want sweets and I'm damned if I'm handing over cash!

We don't do pumpkins - the other half hollows out a swede and carves a face in that and puts a candle in - I think it's a Devon thing! :D

Technically its illegal, as it's a form of begging!

Not so much begging as "demanding money (rewards) with menaces". There is a law dunno what it is though....

Burrrp!

My older two are out bothering the "villagers". We have just had a visit from our neighbours - nice to see them and share a wine with parents.

Living in the country has it's advantages I suppose.

Except getting breathalised on the way to pic up the older kids

Well its 8pm and we've had no visitors as yet, although we do live on a main road I guess.

I got a load of (almost) out of date freddo frogs to give them too, gah.

Next year if my back holds out, I'm wearing all black, using my Darth Vader voice changing mask and my forceFX lightsaber and scaring the hell out of anyone who comes to the door.

I think we were out last year, I can't remember.

guess i will just have to eat them then

We just watched a Nightmare on Elm Street and it didn't scare sue.

I watched it when I was 10 and it still scares me to death

The worst ones are the ones without costumes, who just stand there and thrust a bag into your face.

something I posted on another forum: (hey, I'm not going to type it twice :D)

While I'm still kinda a kid (16), and we do still cater for guisers, its really lost its attractiveness (apart from the once-a-year event of having a big bowl of sweets in our house).

We had a few people who did stuff - they even played the violin! and told some not-funny jokes, and a lot of people who stood there and held out their supermarket-made plastic bags with "Trick or Treat" written on them and expected sweets. I should of thrown a chocolate football at them. Perhaps one day I'll ask for a trick...

(and go out the back exit and be waiting at the gate in case they actually did anything....)

saying that, I just got some really good ones with an interesting (read: hard to understand and rather silly) story and a completely un-related, but still rather good, song.

They're not all bad

Oh come on people! It's halloween and I haven't gone out with my little ones yet. Only 3:20 here. :) Can't wait though, I love it!!! Mine are going out as Darth Vader and a Unicorn. Think of all that candy coming my way, muuahhh :p I'm a junkie. :D

Aww Kamion ... dont say youre alone in the dark on your Birthday???

 Happy Birthday Mate

thanks. :)

well, that's why I'm on the internet. I'm never alone.

nah, I'm used to it. it's not all that important anyway. went out for a meal with some friends last night, so that's it. :)

well ive had 3 knock tonight, all in costume so they were reqarded.

Last year a few older kids knocked on the door and when my son offered them the bowl of sweets with the polite invite of 'one each' one of the older kids grabbed a handful and legged it. So much Effing and Blinding at the 'adult' who was with them and a slamming of the door got the message out that i wasnt going to play ball for the rest of the night, light off and that was that. No sign of big kids this year, so all is well

Happy birthday Kamion!

I think it really depends on the area where you live, which doesnt relate to the afluance but the population of teens!
Round here its mainly young kids 1-11yrs old, who dress up, are happy with coming back with a bag of sweets. What spoils it, as always are the minority, and usually the older kids who will use Halloween as an excuse to pi** people off.
I love it, my kids love it, and the neighbours are all in the spirit, which makes for a great time all round.
And it is only the one day round here also.... Carol singing is a different matter!!!! :)
