Hi Gang

Thought i would buy myself some different film as most of my stuff is ISO 25-100 so i went for some Tri-X 400
I've heard good things about this film but my only developers are Rodinal and Neofin Blue, both of which are high acutance developers for slow films

My question is, will Rodinal give good results with Tri-X or should i get a different developer?

I recently done a roll of tri x in rodinal, it was its second use so I imagine the grain is probably worse than it would have been. As you can see the results are rather grainy!

I did read somewhere that stand development works quite well with tri x, maybe worth trying out?

I tried stand development with Tri X in R09 and couldn't get consistent results.
After trying a few other developers I'm back with R09 using it in a more standard dilution, 25ml R09 to 575ml water so what's that, 1:25 or something? I only use it once and grain doesn't seem too bad.

I thought about trying to push the film to iso800 but as I'm using a Hexar AF I'd start to have trouble shooting during the day if I did that because of the rather slow max shutter speed of 1/250.

Should have mentioned that these will be medium format so hopefully the grain wont be a massive issue

I haven't developed Tri X in Rodinal (as you know I'm in the middle of a love affair with TX and Diafine), but I've seen some pretty good results with it pushed to 1600/3200 and stand developed, and that was with 35mm, so 120 should look fine.

This is 6x6 320 in Rodinal
Never done a stand development so I think its most likely 1+50 for 15 mins.
I don't imagine 320 is a lot different to 400.

I think i've done Tri-X in Rodinal, and i'm almost sure this is it (damn my not keeping records):

This would be one of those third party ones (same film but with a different sticker), ISO 400 souped in 1+50 for almost 15 minutes.
