I have just got some of Bellinis clone of Diafine. I have yet to use it and will be going away in a week so I won’t be able to test it with the film I will be taking, Tri-x and if it arrives in time HP5.

The official recommendation for iso for Tri-x is 1600 and 800 for HP5, however whenever I’ve had a look it seems that 1000-1250 is better for Tri-x.

Examples aren’t too easy to find so if anyone has any experience with either it would be appreciated.

Wow, I find these speeds mind boggling! Most of my photographs are taken on Pan F (50), occasionally FP 4 (125) if I need a fast film and very rarely HP 5 (400) when I am in madness mode.

Then I have been playing this game for 60 years and speed is not something which is high on my agenda these days.

I wouldn’t usually go above HP5 at 400 and Fp4 pushed to 200/250. However the camera I’m using now is a Rollei 35 that used scale focus so ideally I wouldn’t be below F11. F16 is my preferred aperture for the camera, at f16 you only need to remember 2 focus distances and you can focus at 1-2m and 2m-infinity.
