Transfer favourites/bookmarks from one computer to another.

My wife is about to purchase a new laptop with Windows 10 installed. Her current laptop is Windows 7 and we were wondering if there is a quick and simple way of transferring her favourites/bookmarks from the old laptop to the new one?

Internet explorer?

If so just a favs folder within the users profile folders.

Firefox then go into bookmarks and export, import to new machine.

Chrome I can't remember off top of head

Chrome I believe you can do by using your google account.

good point, i have the same bookmarks on all of my machines when i sign in

Depends on the browser, but all browsers will have a bookmark import / export tool. If you google the terms "book mark import export" and the name of your browser you should get the info you need. If you use chrome, and are signed into your google user account, the bookmarks should be backed up to the cloud, but check the sync settings to be sure.

Thanks everyone for your replies. My wife uses Internet Explorer and I am a Mac user, so can offer her very little help, but I knew I would get the help we required here on the forum.

I have also read that it is possible to copy folders on to a USB stick and then on to the new computer, has anyone used this method?

yeah just copy the contents of the

C:\Users\neil\Favorites

for example
