Posted here before in relation to Hasselblad camera training, but that didn't happen unfortunately. I've been looking to do some type of course or training scheme that would allow be to put something on my CV to say I have the appropriate abilities to do studio work. My experience is quite thorough, but I don't have anything to put down on my CV. Which is unfortunate.

Anyone know of any decent courses they've been on or heard from? I'm not really bothered much by cost.

I've had a quite google and noticed alot around London.

Feel free to ask me some questions if I haven't made myself so clear.

Thanks a bunch,

Alex

Alex, 'appropriate ability' is more to do with experience and evidence by way of a credible portfolio. Saying you've done training won't mean much, without the proof. But there is a lot of good training out there, your Google search will have revealed a lot I imagine - for studio tuition off the top of my head I can think of Damien Lovegrove near Bristol, Damian McGuilicuddy in Warrington.

I wasn't meaning teach me photography. I meant it more in the sense of proficiencies and such. I am looking to go into studio photography and I'm seeking experience and I figured if I had on my CV that I had done studio and or medium forma training alongside my portfolio.

Yes, tuition is the word I was looking for :)

I'll give one of them an email.

McGuilicuddy is by far the most technically up to date and aware - have seen both of them speak/train.

There's not many qualifications at all, and for a mix of reasons, and the ones that do exist are a varying level of quality. End of the day, clients for freelance snappers couldn't give less of a damn about a piece of paper.

Not so much as a photographer, but as a digital operator, there's the Capture One certified professional qualification - but very specialised and only of use to digi ops really...

This thread is more than a year old.. It would be safe to atleast assume my query would have been answered..
