Heard on the news today about a father who is being sent to prison for causing the deaths of 4 of his children in an accident.
It rang a bell with me and I realised he is a member here, I'm not revealing private information as he has already posted about the tragedy.
It's Gresh and this is his website dedicated to his children.

Goodness, how awful :( seems a sad decision to make...thoughts go to all the family and everyone around them

I saw this on the news earlier, and was looking for the old thread, but I can't find it.
I remember posting the information about it a few months ago, and he was a member here and replied.

I really hope he doesn't get sent to prison for this. The news says he's being charged.
I think he's been through enough, why the hell would they charge him?

Just look through the media and you see reports of scum being let off for stabbing people, mugging pensioners, rapists getting away with it, yet someone who has had to endure the heartache of losing his four children to this terrible incident, has to go through the process of being charged.

It's sick.

I can't help but feel he's been punished enough for any wrong doing that may be involved. What purpose would it serve to give him prison time?

I remember the post and the original news item.
Thats terrible with all the s*** going on, on a daily basis!
I am sure that he feels bad enough without have to contend with this
I'm thinking of you and your family Gresh

I couldn't fathom out what happened in the incident/accident ?

Either way, as has already been said, I do hope everything pans out for him !!

considering the public interest

I don't know all the facts but WHAT POSSIBLE public interest can there be in prosecuting??? :(

It doesn't actually say that he is being sent to prison, but rather that he is on bail. Reading the original news story the blame initially seemed to be being placed on the other driver involved, but either way I can't, as dod says, see what can be gained by prosecuting the poor man.

I'm sure this is just a case of having to go through the motions, I can't imagine any punishment that the courts could impose would be any greater than that which the family have already been through.

This is indeed a very sad and horrible situation to be in. The loss of one child is heartbreaking; the loss of four would drive me to the brink of suicide. I just can’t begin to imagine the pains that family is going through :(

My prayers and thoughts are with the poor souls that have to endure this.

As have been said, it is silly that he is being prosecuted for this accident.
