Hi All,

I was wondering if any of you know of any place that do tradeins or buy kit off you. I am thinking of changing my 50-500 bigma for a 100-400 L as I am really starting to want the IS to get pin sharp images.

I live down in Maidenhead so anywhere in London I guess :)

I strongly suspect you will be better off selling privately and then using the funds to get the best deal you can!
 
I hear that Calumet are now doing trade in for quality kit. Dont know if you have one close or what the prices are like.
As he says always best to sell private.

I think Jacobs do trade in when you purchase new equipment from them . I was recently offered a choice of two older model ( non ASF) Nikon 300 F4 lenes for around £500 each. I asked the sales guy if I could have a list of second hand equipment but he was not able to provide one. He said they had a reasonable stock of used equipment but only sold it when a customer actually asked for used stock!
 
Thanks for the comments all. I will have a ring round a couple of places and see what I can get. Having looked around the web a bit it seems this lens is still fetching a lot of money so looks like I won't lose too much from orginial price :)

Take the advice and sell it on here, don't recall seeing one on here for a while and I believe they are sought after.
 
I would also suggest selling on here. I've just sold my sigma 17-70 on here for £155. The best offer I had for a trade in was £110.
