Red Kite is very nice :)
 
I think I might have gone for the red kite myself, but the red Pieris leaves do standout well against the blue sky.
 
Prefer the shot you chose, neighbours garden looks a bit messy :) Red kite is a lovely shot

The colour simplicity of your chosen shot is great, just the red, the green and the sky.
