Has there ever been a TP Secret Santa?

If not should we set one up as a bit of fun. Limit the budget to a quid?

Would need to find a way to give out address without knowing who its for.

There used to be one for quite a few years but it stopped. It was fun to take part in but I don't think the full spirit of the idea reached all participants.

Yes there was, ran sucessfully for a couple of years aided by Santa and one of his helpers.

Santas helper took names and addresses and matched people. You only got to know your secret senders address, no one elses.
Quite fun researching the person and trying to send personalised gifts. We had a thread where recipients would explain/display what they'd received (along with complaints if opened early :) )

It was stopped after we had issues with the post one year and possibly some people not sending. I know the post was awful that year as I ended up sending items three times of which only one got through before christmas, one arrived in January and one never arrived...

2013 last one: https://www.talkphotography.co.uk/threads/tp-secret-santa-2013-sign-up-here.512070/

I always enjoyed it and still have a print (framed now) on my wall that one kindly secret santa sent me a few years ago.,

Would like to see its return along the same lines that it used to be run. Budget was a tenner, but quite a few people went a little bit over in the quest to get a suitable present for their recipient

Sadly as mentioned above some just didn't get in the spirit of it as much as others, I was kind of lucky as in my case the last time I took part I got someone who I had a good idea what to get them based on past interaction I'd had with them

could just do a print secret Santa. Ds colour labs are fast and cheap enough. Although it's a bit of a personal thing.

It's funny you say that as for the 2012 secret Santa, my gift received was a mug with one of my photos on which I though was quite a nice touch even if personally I'd have not picked that particular photo but it's still appreciated and I still use and enjoy it each time I use it

I like the idea of sending a print. Would have to be one thats not been shared online as you might be able to trace who was your santa.
