Ok all :D After looking at picture of a Blacksmiths workshop in the landscapes and scenery section this in turn jogged my memory. I was thinking a while back that I have not seen any pictures of people in a Glass blowing workshop, or for that matter now a Blacksmith at work. I think both types of trade would give some good results, fire, sweat and looking filthy in the case of a Blacksmith. I am sure there are people on Tp that could produce some excellent results. So get going and see what you can come back with  Pictures are to be taken between now and the 18th of December and posted in this thread. I will keep it simple I do the judging  and what I say goes :rules: In return I will donate £10 to your charity of choice. Dont like the prize? Tough Titty!!

EDIT Do we have to take a new shot or use one we took say a few months ago and how many images can we enter please, great idea BTW

Sorry Dave, one image only that can be changed up untill the closing date. No specific time that it was taken, but hand on heart it must be your own work.

Oh nice idea! I'm off to check when the National Glass Centre (about 1.5 mile away :) ) is open to take pics of working..........Sod's law says it's when I'm at work but we'll see :)
Got them added on FB anyway, so should be easy enough to check.

sorry if im being dense but must it be of glass blowing or blacksmiths or could it be of another type of industry with the same kind of feel?

I think the answer could be somewhere in the opening thread  but just for you. Either

A good idea Rich, I wish all who have a go the best of luck  I'm off now to get my thinking hat on :)

Just for a bit of fun, I have a 1978 picture of glass blowers working in Ibiza. This was taken (if I remember right) on a 110 Instamatic compact, the picture has survived a major house fire, and is naturally aged. Scanned this morning from a 3 x 4 print, and its as bad as I remember it to be, possibly worse :gag:

Am I the winner :) ooooerrrr :D

As I'm feeling churlish :naughty:.......that's a Farrier, not a Blacksmith.

Though I suppose it could be a Blacksmith who is also a Farrier :)

And as I'm feeling churlish you have made no contribution so b****r off :D

:D Well after being up most of the night sifting through the numerous entries I have come to a decision. I am pleased to announce the winner is Jellycat, it was a close call though with Trev4 being in second place  Well Lyn you have just bagged £10 for the charity of your choice  I will PM you to arrange the best way of me paying it in and getting some proof for you, well done!

Congratulations Lyn, a well deserved winner indeed. I am so sad coming second, almost inconsolable :'(, but then without a looser there cant be a winner. And to come second out of such quality, well, I admire Rich's dedication in making a decision, well done mate, but you made the right choice without doubt :)
Good on you Rich for making a dontation to charity, seriously, its a nice thought and thank you :clap:
