Why am I so pleased to have found TP?

Well... I work from home, alone and TP allows me to interact with other people who share my interests.

For a number of years I was (still am) a member of an RPS Portfolio Circle; we send a portfolio of prints round to each other every 4 weeks or so (3 or 4 folios circling at all times).
Prob was everbody was doing what they did best so not seeing anything new. Sending a folio of prints thro' post costs £4-£6 each month. Feedback on image takes months to come back to you. Circle limited to approx 12 persons for reasons of practicality.

TP, however, gives me access to so many more people and images and styles (and levels of experience). It's 'instant' and feels more vibrant.

Members can ask questions and help is quickly given.

TP is a caring, sharing, encouraging place from which everyone at every level can learn.

Totally agree, i was part of a few other photography forums previously and there wasnt really much of interest there, no one replied to you half the time, even in the Welcome Post.
i found this place through a friend of mine and now i dont look anywhere else.
Help is here, advise is here, friendly people are here.
TP rules.

Perfectly put. I am a complete beginner to photography, and as with some other forums, newbies are often looked down upon, or jolted when they voice some of their thoughts.

TP has so far been a welcoming site, bar the Nikon / Canon divide, which in itself is nothing malicious, just good healthy competition. But more than that, it provides seperate planes of thought and experience that any new member can draw from.

So yeah, this is a big up to TP from me too.
 
Glad you found us. I'm sure like me you'll feel welcome, learn so much and enjoy the place. I rarely go anywhere else.:)

Only lacking some tarts and booze.

I like it here as well I've learnt a lot just from reading the threads, and have had a lot of help from people :)

Agreed wholeheartedly ... :thumbs: ... and on both counts ... :suspect: ...


... and as at today I haven't used that kit in anger for about 4 months at least ... :shrug: ... probably for as long as I have been awol from the forums ... ;) ... but I know where it all is ... :D

Well df is a tart, and I hear that Ian's a bit of an old sauce, so thats halfway there.

Totally agree with what has been said by the OP, this place has helped me learn plenty and has improved my photography too :)

I was in colour circle two for about a year... enjoyed it but then just didn't have the time.. got a first and a few seconds and thirds :)
 
As has been said by just about everyone here, i would also like to thank TP for all the help it has given me .
I do not post many photographs but learn by what other members post.

I was so bewildered by the world of DSLRs when I first signed up, I thought I'd never get to grips with it.
But I came on and asked a lot of questions, posted pics and everyone was so helpful, and now I contribute more to the site than I did, which wouldn't have been possible without everyone being so nice to me!

Can't say anything that hasn't already been said, but I wanted to post to show I also REALLY appreciate having TP to help me.

I have taken some pics I am proud of and I couldn't have done it without the help from you lot!! :love:
