TP 52'ers Class of 2016 Discussion thread Week 52 we made it! time to celebrate /( celebrations)

Feeling quite chuffed that one of my photos has been selected for the final 12 in the Sussex Wildlife Trust's online calendar competition for the second year.
Excellent Emma congrats

Talking of crit, @Cobra will be in for some if he doesn't get off the beach and get a theme posted :D
Oh shush you :p

He is abroad isn't he? Just thinking, cobras are quarantined upon entry to the UK so we may be in for a looong wait.
No quarantine for cold blooded creatures :p

Ooops - is this he of whom we speak !!!

Ha Bloody Ha :p

Will they require a ransom, :( I did find a 10p on the pavement.
That should cover it

Bad news chaps.......
Seems like Jimmy Choo found him
Don't you bloody start either :p

And I've just found 5p in my drawer at work, we need to start a fund Free Cobra (or at least allow him to pull a theme out of the bag each week on a Thursday) :D
Please send £20 notes in a plain brown envelope

:cobra: Will that help
Every time Susie every time :D

Sorry chap and chapess's I'm back home now, but just swapped internet providers ( long story)
All sorted now, the theme will be along in a few minutes :)

OK guys and Girls, some of you will realy hate this one, better get your thinking caps on ...
Some of the themes I post are easy, some are everyday topics and themes, but this one may seem rather Alien to some ;)

Alien?
I've changed my mind.
Take some time....have a think about it

Just for clarification - in the spirit of things, I assume everyone is posting images taken within the themes week (give or take), and arent trawling through their libraries to find something that fits the theme ?

That's my understanding Mark - doing otherwise detracts from the fun, challenge and motivational drivers associated with the TP52. Having said that I think allowances are made for the "exceptional" use of archive shots when life commitments prove overly restrictive.

There seem to be a few people who get behind and then catch up which seems to be quite acceptable and whilst I intend to finish this year with photos taken in the week of the theme (give or take as you say), I am considering a whole different approach if I do this again next year.

Thats pretty much how I've been doing it too. I did (have) use(d) a couple of archives. but declared them as such along the way.

I am considering a whole different approach if I do this again next year.
Are you planning to post the theme before its announced? Cool :D

As for next year, I'm sure there will be one

What does Topical actually mean, I just can't understand it although I thought I did. I know I am on the other side doing the first half but I want to give it my best.

People interpret each theme in their own individual way Shirley. Topical for me meant something of current interest; in my case I chose to do something with sugar as that happened at the time to be the subject of health concerns. Hope that helps.

What does Topical actually mean,
A quick google and the definitive answer ... ( or 2)

Simple Definition of topical
  • : relating to current news or events : dealing with things that are important, popular, etc., right now

  • medical : made to be put on the skin

Well. I certainly got it wrong, a re.think is required. Thanks for the answers.

I thought that weather was more or less Topical, its always in the news, everyone talks about the weather.

Its nearly Thursday give or take a day or two.:)

I thought my photo looked tropical but no one goes to the other side to see it, no matter. Nearly Thursday.

I've just realised there appear to be two separate threads one entitled "Shirleyr's 52 ..." and another called "My 52'ers ....". I'll take a look at both but maybe that's what causing some confusion ?!?!

I saw that too, seems I got the blame for suggesting that, however that one in personal themes and challenges, was when Shirley asked me where to start a personal project.
The 52's I pointed her towards the how too's section ...
Even I'm confused now :D

Now, there is no need to get confused, when I've finished the 1 to 26, I'll ask if someone who knows about stitching threads, can stitch my two sections together. If it is completly impossible it dosen't matter. Ths thing is I'm having a nice time all alone doing the earlier themes. Doing my own thing:D See, all sorted.:agree:

The threads can be merged, no problem, BUT they (each post in the threads) will merge in chronological order (ie the date they were posted)
So it could get messy ;)

Why not just leave them separate and re-title them Pt.1 and Pt. 2
That would make more sense, then I'll just move the other one to the 52 thread, and they'll stay separate :)
