TP 52'ers Class of 2016 Discussion thread Week 52 we made it! time to celebrate /( celebrations)

Still here, Caitlin not been well and a very long working week and will be for a good few weeks, Hoping to get out sunday catch up on our pics. Or tomorrow if I am lucky enough to get an early finish...

Nothing to do much with the 52 but it is topical.... fast lens lovers look at this, I want one...

Haaaaa :p

Been busy re-installing apps, LR etc... for a moment I thought I had lost all my photos, I did a soft reset on the computer as it was playing up a little... I know I should have just left it as is :bang:

I do that too, "I'll just do this" .. and then its a case of oh f***, I wish I hadn't now!

My initial thought regarding the theme was, "Woah, too much scope, it could be anything, so where do I begin?" That was the difficulty, lol.

But I quickly got an idea about it, then I was fine, even quite excited, and also worried. Because I get these grand ideas I have no capability of carrying out. :LOL:
 
Btw just curious.... I know @Cobra picks words out of a bag (therefore he claims no responsibility towards chosen themes :rolleyes:).

But... where do the words come from and how did they get in the bag? Who is the Wordmaker?

Well, and also, are there enough words in the bag to last forever and a day, or does the bag get filled afresh every year (so with possibilities of repeats)?

Sorry if I'm asking too many questions. I will go stand in the newbie corner and be quiet for 10 minutes. :muted: :schtum:

The irony is, over the years TP52 member have picked them :whistle:

Here is the list post #2 carried over from previous years, they greyed out ones are last years.
The blue ones are this years so far.

They are in a bag, folded, so I can't see them I swirl them about a bit and pull one out, post it, throw it away.


All though its not exhaustive, I do add words now and again, to the collection if I come across a "good one"
And as Andy say's, there were a few nominations even at the beginning of 2016

Ooh, so you actually think up all the words, write or print them out, cut them up and toss them in the bag? A lot of work there!

Was curious whether the words were thought up individually or whether they were printed from, like a dictionary or some list of sorts. :p

I only took over the running of the 52's the last quarter of 2015, and inherited the "list" as you see it, so not totally sure where it came from initially.
but Andy @posiview said I think a lot were previous chosen by the participants themselves.

Its easy enough to copy and paste the words into "word" columns and a pair of scissors to cut them into strips.
Doesn't take that long TBH.

As previous, if I think of something / hear something etc that sounds like it could be a good theme, I add it to the bag of tricks & list as and when.

Well, you said there were all folded, so I'm thinking the bulk of the work would have been folding them individually. But anyway, thank you for answering all my silly questions with such patience. You've completely ruined the image of a bad-tempered snake you seem to want to portray. :LOL:

thin strips just fold them in half, easy to do while I'm watching TV or something, besides that was done ages ago, the odd additional one here and there doesn't take that long :)

Well I was feeling quite smug as I have managed to catch up.... except for this weeks theme. Flickr is playing up and not showing my photos in my TP folder. Will have to go back later in week to see whether it has sorted itself out or I will try again. At least they are in my photo stream. Probably sent flickr into shock :ROFLMAO:
 
Juxtaposition ... I wish I'd been around to witness that! :D
