In the last few 3 or 4 years the 52 has, I'd say 'matured', people set their own rules at the start of the year and take the challenge with the ups and downs that present to them.

We have had dozens of discussions on here, in separate threads and at forum meets, I think it was pretty unanimous every time it was discussed that being strict to 'photo must be taken in the week', would mean that only @posiview would be the only one left in it each year :D

Seriously it keeps things lighthearted, interesting, the 52 croud very active, and most of all.... FUN :thumbs:

I think it keeps the thing open to more people if less draconian on the rules. The key I think is that it's a challenge not a competition.

For me the timing of things doesn't work out so well as I work mon-Friday; the weekend when a new theme is released usually ends up being thinking time for me rather than photography time, but then I don't get the same opportunity to get out with the camera on a work day. As I would the weekend.

Whatever day the theme is released it isn't going to suit everyone, so flexibility in the challenge "rules" is important IMHO

Ok, so tomorrow's Thursday. What sort of theme do we reckon we might end up with this time? I'm off to measure avalanches on Friday and then up a different mountain on Saturday. So I reckon we're guaranteed something like "hot" or "safe" just to frustrate me :)
 
I am very tempted to play a joker and post something tonight just to wind up the timing police :police:

That's exactly the way I see it too.
And maybe one or the reasons that it is so friendly in here, there are no prizes, and no one is in competition with anyone, but themselves (y)

Safe stay out there, Paul (y) it seems that a couple of people have got lost recently, still not found and someone died today after being pulled off a mountain :(

Thanks Cobra... I turned up the news this evening to listen to the update on the couple at Nevis only to hear of another rescue attempt at Creag Meagaidh (which we drove past on Saturday, on the way back home) - and another three gents pulled off some smaller hills in the lowlands. Not good :( Mrs pjm is now trying to convince me to cancel my two trips, even though one of them is actually to improve my safety skills (avalanche training).

Winds are high for Saturday so we've already switched that trip to one of the easiest munros in Scotland - you can quite literally navigate it with your eyes closed, which might well be necessary given the conditions...

Nooooooo still got to do Danger(ous) as the images I took last Sunday are C£$p got another idea but won't be able to do it until tomorrow

Sounds intriguing....

Tomorrow will bring another day at WORK and then the weekend during which I need to sort my Dangerous image and 15 images for assessment for the PAGB and 2 prints for the next club competition!!!

Well it was, but working 13/ 14 hour days at the moment :(
By the time I've sorted the birds out fed me had a sort out at home, catch up with all my TP correspondence, ( aren't I the popular one? :D )
Its time for bed ready for that 04:50 alarm again :(

I'll get something up before I turn in tonight, I can't have the peasants revolting now, can I?

Managed to get mine up (ooo er) before the next topic. Might begin to get the hang of this.

Not the one I wanted to post but it fits. Works getting in the way of the hobby
