Just to clarify, I assume that posting my images in my own thread only (and not in the official threads) is still ok owing to me being unofficial like?! ;)

You can post in both if you want, that is the "Image only" thread and your own personal thread :thumbs:
 
I just realised I'd neglected to comment on your thread when I was catching up (which is a bit rubbish of me really, as I'd looked your thread out to add you to the spreadsheet - D'OH).
Omission corrected :)
As the slithery one says, please do post in the main thread too (it's how most of us check for updates to the 52).

Not at all, I was more than happy to be 'outside looking in' for the remainder of the year - it's the kind encouragement from you good TP people that persuaded me to (unofficially) join in.
I didn't expect any comments or critique, so a big thank you to those that did....I shall endeavour to reciprocate as soon as I can find my thesaurus!:D

I'm really struggling with this weeks theme, but what I have learnt is don't type monsterous into a Flickr search for inspiration :eek::eek::eek::eek:

It really is quiet sad what has happened to the 52 since the little clique made their comments about personal lives and catching up, used to be such a friendly part of the forum away from the "gear wars" on much of the rest of the forum. I do hope that the new blood coming in and the clique off doing their own thing might result in the 52 getting its sense of fun back.:)
 
Thought some might be interested in this,

Look at the difference between these images, I reckon there is at least a 1/3rd of a stop difference between the two, one is on flickr and the other on the forum. Any ideas why this should be so? It occurs to me that when we also take into account monitor calibration the image I see on lightroom and the image you see by the time it gets on forum can be vastly different. I am not having a moan about the forum just interested in why? and whether we can do much about it?

It is sad. We have lost a lot of the regulars who added a sense of fun and support when I first started.

As for personal lives and all of that malarkey, sadly reduced time and health have interfered with my 52 this year more than ever, but it has always been made clear that the 52 is a PERSONAL challenge above all else, so I plough on with my personal challenge when I can and take the time to visit and comment on all the other threads when I can. I also try to encourage stragglers and newcomers. I reckon if everyone does the same next year, this place will be OK. It's up to the community.

I was going to suggest that the black background makes the Flickr image look brighter, while the white background in the forum screengrab makes that one look darker. But actually the bottom half of the frame in particular does look brighter on Flickr, which seems odd.

Sorry I can't add anything more constructive because I haven't noticed it with my images, although I know sometimes images DO look 'better' on Flickr than in a thread, but that is often to do with resizing and images looking sharper at one size than another.
