Yates wins stage 10 on Bastille Day as Ireland's Healy takes yellow

Britain's Simon Yates won stage 10 of the Tour de France on Bastille Day as Ben Healy became the first Irish rider to claim the yellow jersey for 38 years.

Yates, who triumphed in his second Grand Tour at the Giro d'Italia in June, timed his attack superbly on the final ascent of the 165.3km stage from Ennezat - Le Mont-Dore Puy de Sancy after being part of a long-range breakaway.

I used to watch TDF when it was free on Eurosport.... I recently cancelled my Sky Sports subscription and have no intention of.paying for Eurosport/TNT Sports channels...

I really only watch one televised sport, which is Rugby League and it's mainly the NRL matches from Australia which I like to watch, but Sky only broadcasts 3 matches a week.... I've now switched to paying a subscription for a service that allows me to watch all the NRL games every week....

best place to watch it this year is ITVX on ITV4 which for £5.99/month its add free for full coverage :) and you can watch it on demand

It's on ITV 4 for free, virtually full coverage. They go add fee for the last 20 mins or so (let's be honest, you miss very little in the add break when the race is just rolling along), but they do normally miss the morning roll-out.

I watch live via Freesat so in HD too.

I have certain days mark in my calendar not to miss, Saturday for Col du Tourmalet, next Tuesday Mont Ventoux, next Thursday Col du La Madeline

@Delphin lots of great climbing stages coming for sure

And of course he was bourn and raised in the Black Country.

We get Eurosport/TNT sports included at no extra cost with our BT Broadband package.
Its only the app, but you can also get it on a smart tv if its a Samsung.
Very handy for the TDF especially when ITV lose the highlights from next year.
Also good for watching the Champions League and the occasional Premier league game too.

Wow Pog smashed it today !

Well that's it from ITV after 40 years coverage  :( , enjoyed it this year. Last few mins of the last programme on Sunday looked at highlights from previous years.

It has been on TV since the 80s, first on Channel 4 before moving to ITV in 2001.
Looks likely from next year, free to air will be a highlights show only (possibly on Quest)

Several sports have learnt to their cost, the short term income boost of pay TV is outweighed by the lack of engagement and falling participation with people who can't/won't pay to view.
