So, when shooting Tough Guy competition last week, I strapped a micro video camera to my flash, here's an extreme POV behind the scenes.

then again, it is easy for me to say that when I've always been in a nice warm coat... ;)
 
Really good video, liked the idea. May be an idea for CASE...
 
Was that taken with one of those little car key spy camera things? I've got one of them, great little toy for messing around with :p

I thought that the camera was gonna go under in that muddy water, made me stop breathing for a second, ha.
 
Loved the shots! Great idea with the video too. Did you use flash in all those shots? How did you have the camera and flash set up? Av mode n ettl or something else?

Uh... manual mode, TTL usually with somewhere between -3 and -1 FeV dialled in. Flash either on camera, or on a TTL cable. Towards the end of the race, the sun had really come out and balancing or matching it was pretty tough, had to be sitting at f20 odd just to get right exposure at under 1/250th :(
