Touchy - is it the heat?

Well I'm loving the weather currently sitting on the beech in Kos 34 degrees - wifi on the beach, it's the way forward ! :-)

its like a turkish bath here - i'd be sitting arround in my pants if work didnt view that as unproffesional , and that feeling of having a layer of slime made of woodchip, dirt, and sweat between my back and my shirt is less than relaxing.

But that said a minority of people p*** me off no matter what the weather is doing

Isn't this a result of Euro regulations insisting that cars produce less noise? Heavier insulation to deaden engine and exhaust noise, piped-in sounds to return the "sporty" noise for the driver. Same reason why so many top-end cars have a flap in the exhaust to reduce noise.

Similar applies to bikes; I remember reading about the Ducati 1098 (I think, not sure of the exact model) which had a flap in the exhaust that closed at 4900rpm and opened at 5100rpm or thereabouts because the noise test is done with the engine under load in third gear at 5000rpm.

Quite the opposite. I've been on bestest behaviour on this site because previously I tended to post quite a bit on a bike site where the 'c-word' is used almost as a general greeting. Reading threads like this makes me relax about poking my head out of Fusty & Crusty as it's not quite the genteel camera club it appears to be at first ;)

OK.. I got the feel of this forum now. It's OK to use some minorities as a descriptive word for anything bad... but not others.

I find you mostly boring and predictable rather than offensive but I know you have no regard for me either so no loss either way.

For anyone else reading, I've just finished chainsawing hedges in the garden ... in the heat and I'm now very, very hot ... and maybe a bit touchy!

if you arent bright enough to know the diffeence betwen something being 'fun' and something being 'in fun' - the latter meaning that its not intended to be serious or insulting , then you must have found (fictional) law school very difficult

Heat isn't certainly being an issue at this end at the moment, it's still rather overcast here at Folkestone and last night I had to close my bedroom window because the stiff nor'easterly wind coming in from the North Sea and the constant drizzle made it feel cold and draughty indoors. Got a lovely night's sleep, though! It really did look and felt like I had skipped summer and gone straight onto Autumn (or perhaps I have missed summer by blinking too much).
But that's the joys of living on a peninsula type land mass where I'm surrounded by cold seas at three points of the compass (the North Sea, Strait of Dover and the English Channel), hence the Falkland Islands type climate at this end despite my being the most nearest to the continent. However, for once, the lawn is looking quite lush for it, which is unusual given this is usually the driest end of the UK.

And for once, up here, 40 miles North .Nor East of London, we seem to be getting the best of the weather for a change.
Its not rained for quite awhile now, save a few spots yesterday :)
 
Oh it rained a good 'un overnight here, and was cooler and cloudy to start.
Bright sunshine now though, and very warm outside, I'm told :-)
 
More heat = more consumption of beer. More beer = less irritable (in my case :D)

Hi Chris! The sun came out after all (and as per my own forecast) and is causing the temperatures and humidity to creep up. So, it seems that this part of the world can actually do summer-like weather after all.

Chap in Mountain Warehouse thought I was crazy when I bought a couple of pairs of thermals and a pair of snow trousers earlier (and I think Mrs Nod is equally crazy for trying on her thermals and snow boots now!!!). I did point out that we were off to Iceland in march and that their 20% off sale ends today and that the stuff was all in their clearance section too - over £200 worth of kit for well under £80 so crazy like a fox!

Fancy putting all that garb on just to go to the Supermarket. I here Aldi and Lidel are quite good these days.
 
I'm not a Mum and I do use Lidl and Aldi when I'm passing. ;)
