Seems a few folk are pretty touchy at the moment, got me to wondering if it was a problem with the heat/humidity ... has the heat made you more irritable?

The cheapskates in cars without air con are getting very ill tempered. Particularly those travelling in cars with beetroot faced children in the back squabbling.

Isn't that why cars have boots?

No it HAS NOT. Any more suggestions like that. Ill be over to duff some one up. LOL

f'off!

what I can't understand is how many cars do you see that, because of their age and model must have air con or climate control fitted being driven round with the windows open

Did I miss a memo? Is there a new law saying if you have it you must use it?

Or the amount of "Drop heads" with the roof up.
How hot does it have to be?
I counted 10 (up) on my way home (about 26 miles cross country) the other evening.

Edit BTW I have the windows open and the sun roof back, even though I have air con

Many are too cheap to service the Aircon or use it enough. I leave mine on all year round and keep it topped up.

If you have a drop top when the weather is very hot and crawling traffic then it can be nicer with the roof up. If you fancy a bacon butty in the sunshine then black leather seats are hot enough :)

NO! And what's it got do with you anyway?

Think of the Children! think of the environment, with all the extra fuel you are burning! :p
I don't see the point TBH, I'll run it occasionally to keep it from leaking (or so they say)
But I'd rather open the windows. (Unless stuck on the M25 of course)

As above, this was "cross country" so no excuse ;)
I've only had one proper drop head, some years ago,
and that generally stayed down, in all but the most severe weather.

I have a car with a proper engine so fuel economy isn't impacted by Aircon use. Open windows are supposedly worse for fuel economy anyway :)

There's little excuse if its a cross country run unless driver has just had a bouffant hairdo and doesn't want to have it ruined ;)

No idea whether they or don't, I'll just have to take your word for that.

I too have a proper engine, multi cylinders in V configuration,
None of these stupid little whiny things for me :)
Open all the orifices, hit the loud peddle and pig in s*** time (y)

Eh Steve? ( @ST4 )

My 14 year old Audi's aircon has never been serviced and still blows like a winters day in Rekjavic.
40mpg too :-)

Seems a few folk are pretty touchy at the moment,

I only know of one

I had a neighbour once that wouldn't put the A/C on because it used too much fuel, we once did a 200 mile round trip with the windows open

Yes he was that stupid

More cylinders and ccs in Mrs Nod's car than Chris's. Today, hood down and AC on full bore at face and feet. Even found a tunnel to roar through!

No it f*****g hasn't , anything else ... huh ?

In all the cars I've had with Aircon fitted it's never worked, the last one had a soft top but I replaced it with hard top planning on getting the aircon sorted instead. Really need to get it looked at in the FTO!

As to people being more touchy, not sure, I've definitely noticed they seem dumber than usual.

No, I'm like this all the time so BITE ME!!

Ok...who woke up Brash? ;)

I'd say certain people aren't any more touchy than they normally are, however they seem quite touchy any day that ends in a "Y" sadly the NHS don't offer the servies they need to extract what ever is stuck within them...

As to everyone else, I don't know, the weather isn't making me angry, now I cannot say I will not be perpetually angry from tomorrow onwards but that will have nothing to do with the weather

Must say I'm a grumpy old b****r when it gets hot. Company car has aircon and that goes on, my other half's Kia needs recharging at 5 years old. My 13 year old Merc blows lovely cool air but I still like having the windows down. Maybe I'm just a silly old fart that thinks he's posing lol.

How dare you even suggest I was irritable in the first place. But in answer to your question, no it hasn't.
As for aircon, don't really use it, if it's too hot in the car I'll open the windows and feel the breeze and the heat of the sun all at once.

I had an orphan spec Merc with no aircon once, and I vividly recall having to pull over into a layby when my boss phoned me. The temp gauge said +30 and I sat there wondering at the German mentality that required the + sign to be there, since no-one was going to confuse it with -30! While there is an occasional requirement for hot weather aircon in the north of Scotland, its real purpose is to demist the windows quickly when it rains!

Definitely the heat can make people irritable, in fact violent crime increases during heat waves. It's 36oc here today and for the rest of the week, and without air con at night, there is zero chance of sleeping as the air is so still also. A heat wave here can reach 38oc at it's maximum, and only 1 mile from the mountains.

What's wrong with whiny things? There's nothing wrong with having a Whipple supercharger on a V8. Bank angle is all important on a V engine too for the perfect noise.

Whipple supercharger sounds an excellent name for an ice cream!

What you got in your Cobra then?

That would be me then. A) Saves fuel... B).. Not bothered by the heat.. when you're moving, the cool breeze from the windows down is nice... C) My engine sounds fantastic!

After having been a tomato greenhouse farmer for the best part of two decades, I've had my fair share of heat and humidity. On a day like today I'm just glad I no longer am dealing with them bloody fruits.

Dunno if its the heat making me irritable but people who say its hot "here" and then give no blimmin indication of where "here" is do me head in.

Ive got air con in my Golf, don't normally use it but have been on the way home this week. Bliss. Also whether the heat has "loosened up" the diesel or something but Im getting epic MPG at the moment as well. Win/win.

This ain't heat anyway. Try Singapore if you want heat and humidity :)
