Hi Guys,

I have a Toshiba Satellite laptop and for the last couple of weeks it will boot up then state its run into a problem and needs to reboot then just goes through the same cycle over and over. Any idea why?

It states if you contact a support person state code - Reference by pointer.

C'mon you know the routine ;)

Model number?
Operating System details?
Ram size onboard?
Hard disk size & what you may recall of the free space?
Can you get into the BIOS screen?
Details of any error messages such as the "code" you mention?

The model is listed in the wee image below and next to it is the only screen i can see. It comes on and asks me for my password then this screen appears. Windows 10 is the operating system. Its an i3 processor but don't know much more as can't check properties. 20200222_195723.jpeg20200222_201314.jpeg

I'm inclined to suggest it's simply doing what Toshibas do (i.e. not work very well) but that's not helpful.

Have you tried booting into safe mode at all (method dependent on version of Windows installed)? Do you have backups & can you wipe/start again without losing anything?

I'd guess a file has become corrupted and that's why you have a problem, although it could be that the HDD is failing & that caused the corruption to begin with. If you have no backups but DO have access to another computer then you could create a live Linux CD or USB stick & use that to copy data to external media before starting to 'fiddle'.

It has been a nightmare since day 1. Takes ages to boot up and constantly updates every time i put it on. My fault for buying a cheap laptop. I will have a look later as just putting my son to bed. Will report back later.
