Torch for light painting

I knew looking on the net was going to cost me. I've got a hankering now for an x14. I need counselling. :)

The Internet especially this forum should come with a warning that its not good for your bank balance :(
 
Yeah it cost me a Canon 100mm f2.8L macro lens three weeks ago after reading the macro section.

Don't worry Matt - last count I had 18 torches!
My wife thinks I'm mad - I just tell her that I will be the one who's prepared the day the sun goes out:)

It was a little worrying the last time I added up the cost of my various light painting tools I have well over a £1,000 invested :eek: now okay £250ish of that is in petrol generator for when I want to really want to kick things up :D
 
I thought I should revisit this thread my P14 turned up exactly a week ago and while I've not used it in anger for some light painting I've given it a flipping good testing and I'm extremely impressed with it...the quality of the light is excellent...its very strong...and exceptionally focussed, so controlling the light spill is quite easy...the build quality is spot on and it's both comfortable and well balanced when using it..I can 100% recommend it :thumbs:
 
I took the plunge and bought an x14. It's bright ,very bright and still small enough to slip into the pocket of your jacket. It's got a lovely wide beam that must be over 30 feet wide when the beam focus is pulled back and when the beam is concentrated it throws it a hell of a distance. Down on the coast the other night and I could light up my van 300 yards away.

Little bit expensive but as I said before when I consider how much I've spent on torches over the years that ended up in the bin I could have bought 3 or 4 of these.
 
I bought a P7 after this thread started up and two days after I got a throat infection and still struggling with it! Lol. Seems a very nice torch though and I hope to get out with it and use it in the next few weeks.

Yeah the P14 is very good - I've had it for some time now but not used it that much as I use the P7 more for its compact size. The P7 is getting really battered now - looking well used:)
Really need to get out at night soon and do some more dark stuff.

I never mind battered kit it shows its been used and enjoyed ;)
