Just seen a posting about Topaz.

As I am fed up with paying a monthly rent to Adobe I thought I would DL Topaz Studio 30 day free trial and give it a go. However I am have a problem doing it as it will not DL or install, I am running the latest OS on my iMac, has anyone else had this problem and if so how have you got over it.

I do not use a Mac, but I have always found Topaz tech support to be very helpful.
When you say "it will not DL" what happens? are you getting any error message?
 
No idea with Mac but just to ask the obvious (?)

If it will not download how can it be expected to install.

On the DL page there is a DL 'button' but also a hyper link just below where it says "current version" saying " links above not working? try these" https://topazlabs.com/downloads/

Also they seem to be very min spec demanding according to the info here https://topazlabs.com/downloads/

Hopefully you can get it sorted AOK :)

I am just told that there is an error.
 
Ok, just way of comparison as I do not do Mac

On a pc using Chrome browser such clickable download links will dl the .exe and put in a folder of my choice.......if the dl fails the file will not show as the .exe so I then need to retry the DL. If the DL is in some way corrupted, when I try to install it I would anticipate an installer error message such as file corrupted.

In the case of the DL page it is not clear why topaz offer alternate link but clearly (?) sometimes there must be dl issues for them to link to an alternative source.

Topaz Studio requires a recent version of OpenGL (think that's it) so if your computer is an older model it probably won't install.
Have a look at DXO there is a free version available until the end of July and it is quite good but won't support the very latest camera bodies.

OP says he can't even download the installer, so it won't have even reached the point where it detects what video card is being used.

Canon 5D3 is a relatively old body.......I wonder if DxO website has a list of supported bodies???
 
Thanks everyone for your replies. I have now managed to DL and install Topaz , I don't know what I have done different.

@Box Brownie yes there is a list of supported bodies however I will give Topaz a try before DL DxO.

Okay folks you have been a great help over my Topaz problems. I now have another problem, I am running the trail version of topaz which so far seems pretty good, however I will now have to ask what may seem a silly question, but this is mainly I suppose to Topaz users but where is the print button, can I as hell find how to print a on screen image.

I was wondering the same thing, as I have said there is no print button in my copy.

Unless because it is a trial version "Print" is omitted.

There isn't a specific print routine in Topaz but Mac users can use <command P>
 
Just had a reply to my print query to Topaz and they tell me there is no print module, you have to save and then print.

Will have to think hard about using this, so will now have a look at DxO

Don't want to disappoint you but DXO doesn't have a print module either. Yes you can click File->Print but there are no print profiles, no page layouts etc that you get with Lightroom.

LR looking like better value for money now?
 
Qimage for printing, better than any programs inbuilt print modules I have tried anyway.

Sorry I must correct you. I have DL and installed DXO loaded an image from my pictures file, clicked on print on the DXO desk top and it printed straight away.

I never disputed that. I said that you can print, but is a basic print dialog box. You have no way of assigning a print profile, no way to layout your image/images on the page. You get to print one image in sRGB (I guess)

Apologise..

However I have found it is possible to resize a print and/or rotate it, along with borders.
