Top Photography Xmas presents?

£6.47 on Amazon and your mother is so right!

What's wrong with asking for a photography treatise for Christmas! Better than getting something I wouldn't enjoy!

We don't spend much money on each other, maybe a tenner, usually a bit less.

I reached that age where you get b*gger all so I found a solution; lurking in my house is my original 54-year old teddy bear and I started getting presents "from" him. He's very good at it and bought me a 400mm f/4 last year so I've asked him for a 200-400 f/4 x1.4 this year. Sadly he's told me to forget it since he's just bought me a new house ;)

Peace on Earth and goodwill toward man........and woman, I suppose. That's what I want.

Nah, screw that, I want that £4k Nikon 500mm f4VR in the classifieds! I keep leaving the browser open on that page in the vain hope that my woman decides it would make a good present.
Honestly, love, I won't ask you where you got the money from!

I dont suppose the teddy has a well looked after friend that needs adopting? Sounds great although one thing.... surely the bear should be hibernating?

I recently purchased a 35mm 1.8g as i saw it mispriced in my local camera shop at £96. Great lens thats very sharp and well recommended to anyone looking to sneak a bargain in the sales.

I only started the thread because i thought someone would mention some cool stocking filler type gadgets for photography! This is the first year in a while i havent managed to find anything quirky!

I have only been bitten by the DSLR photography bug for the past year starting off with a D3100 last November, so am still obtaining kit - with that in mind I've asked for a monopod, lens/camera cleaning kit, rucksack and media cards, instead of the usual jumpers, after shave, socks and other less important stuff !

Muss, the 35mm f1.8g lens was the first that I bought to go with my kit lens, I paid a bit more last year at £149, which was still a bargain for such a great little lens !

Nooooo, this bear doesn't hibernate. He drinks. By the look of it he was at the malt whisky last night.

I'm getting an EOS M kit for christmas, it came the other day and I had a play with it to try it out. My son was wanting to try it out and he liked it so much we decided to get him a kit as well, he wants to be able to shoot animals in a zoo behind cages without getting the cages, so he can use my 85 f1.8 to get a small enough DOF while still getting a decent enough length for the cage.

there really is some lucky people here! i have noticed alot of people suddenly buying or looking at the 5d mk1. I thought id have a gander and im not surprised! i see a couple go on Ebay for £210 and £234! Such a good price for so much camera that can still do the job!

Nothing, everything directly photography is to expensive for me to get it for a present so it's either some cash to out towards new gear or I'm more that happy to receive stuff like decent rechargeable batteries or light painting toys :D

This for me - well, maybe a Redsnapper tripod or a battery for the camera.

This pretty much, most of the 'affordable' kit I've already bought myself now... maybe some shiny new filters, not really an exciting present though. :P

1. A 1DX and a 400MM 2.8 IS MK2

Then a nice bottle of aftershave lol

I think I'll need to start looking on ebay then!I figure I need a second body, I eventually want to go full frame & my 70-200 will be good on both crop and FF. Once the thoughts there...its only a matter of time/money

A Hassleblad complete with all lens will do for me or a spare battery for my d200
Barry

I was going to ask for a tripod as I currently don't own one. Then I "accidentally" bought one yesterday and am now waiting for it to arrive.

I'm going to ask for donations towards the lens I'm saving up for (Fuji 50-230mm f4.5/6.7) :)

My lovely wife bought me a D800e....(her money)
Now I have to find out what thats going to cost me...

I'd quite like the Fuji wide angle converter for my X100. (Black please Santa)

I'd like a Canon 200-400 +1.4tc. I asked my wife if she would get me one, how much are they was the question she asked, she said no, that was after I picked her up off the floor.
