Top Gear Series 12 starts on Sunday 2nd November 2008 and the new series is 8 episodes long:

Top Gear
Sunday 02 November
8:00pm - 9:00pm
BBC 2
Motoring news and views from the usual team. Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May decide to buy second hand lorries, despite knowing almost nothing about the world of trucks, and then set about discovering how easy it is to be an HGV driver. Jeremy is also on the test track with a scary Porsche 911, a tame Lamborghini Gallardo and a surprisingly talented Labrador. And chat show legend Michael Parkinson is the Star In A Reasonably Priced Car.

about bloody time! :bonk:

Why ? It`s crap..............

Where's Marko-what's-his-name with a dry comment when it's needed?

Cushty.....

but I think it would be much better without that fawning little prat Hammond

:gag::gag:

I like it for it **** taking and the fact its unscripted and generally unedited means things can be said in jest that really shouldn't.

You watching the same show? It is heavily scripted and edited from what I can tell.

One minute they're inside, the next outside and then the South of France! If thats not editing then they're using some damn fast cars.

ok then ignore the unedited bit but i think some of the jokes and comments in there are not scripted!

My TV guide describes it slightly differently

Top Gear
Sunday 02 November
8:00pm - 9:00pm
BBC 2 and Dave Channel + 1 (year)
Jack Ass for the over 50's with news and views from the usual team. Jeremy 'getting balder by the day' Clarkson, Richard 'quite short' Hammond and James 'geography teacher hair, soon to be spaniel hair if he doesnt get a hair cut soon' May decide to buy second hand lorries, despite knowing almost nothing about the world of trucks, and then set about discovering how easy it is to be an HGV driver with hilarious set-ups and crashes that just happen to occur where the camera man is standing. Jeremy is also on the test track with a scary Porsche 911 and pauses after every sentance before finishing it off with 'in the world!'. And a celebrity with a book out pretends to be Jeremy's oldest best friend whilst talking about driving a crap car on an airfield.

ROFL!

Still nothing else to watch on a Sunday night.

Actually alot of the jokes are scripted. I saw a bloopers show about top gear the other night and it showed them "messing up" the jokes quite a few times before they got the final cut. No doubt some arent scripted but I think the majority are just in case.

Really looking forward to the next series :D Looks like a good'un!

Regards, James

I never used to like top gear, but since Dave channel started showing them and there was nothing else to watch on a sunday morning I've started getting into it.. Got to take it all with a pinch of salt, though.. Clarkson rolls an Alfa, but even though he has in-car camera we dont see it (i.e. he parked it and they pushed it on its roof). He's driving around a track somewhere and crashes the car (on the same corner the camera man is standing at). They race across London and the bike is winning (even though the cameraman in a car is keeping up with him). Wheel falls off his Bodicia police chariot and just happens to go in the direction of where they are standing..

.. I just need to work out how they faked Hammond's near death crash now LOL

Haha yeah it is all just a great big set up, the crashes, the races everything.. but hell it makes for good entertainment on a sunday evening :p Also - I cant stand it on dave.. the adverts every few minutes bugs the hell out of me haha.

Regards, James

Probably classed as 'badly injured' because he was screaming with agony.

top marks for parky interview .... contest with trucks did have it's moments (but was a bit obviously set up) ...

Otherwise this season looks to be as free of car reviews as the last ...

i want to be a lorryist:)

It is obviously set up and they are just three boys playing with their toys and smashing or setting fire to more and more as time goes on.

However, having said that I think it is one of the funniest programmes on TV - one of the few that has me laughing out loud. That and when Bird and Fortune do their "serious" duo talks on Bremner, Bird and Fortune or Silly Money as I think they called it last night.

i enjoyed the trucks made me laugh when the trash ed the citreon. wonder if that was planned!
