Toothie's 52 - All the way to the end

Well i know im a bit late (again) but i hope it was worth the wait, been meaning to do this for ages (should have done it for food) but here is my take on season.

I live in kent and this is Kentish strawberry (probely on of the last as its coming to the end of the season).

Things i have learnt this week.
1. Its much easier with a friend.
2. timing is essential.
3. strawberries go off if yo dont take your picture in time ;)
4. it hard to use a flash through water.

Thanks for looking

Very nice Ruth, the result is simple, but I bet that was tough to shoot. As for your learning point 3, exactly how long were you shooting for this

Oh I like this...:clap::clap:

damn now I want to try it...:shake:

but I got to go to work in a bit...

It's cracking shot and well worth the wait...

Well tbh i was really disapointed with my food shot so as i have some time this week and as there have been a few redo weeks that i haven't taken advantage of i thought i would redo food in the style that i am becoming known for;)

Well as some of you may know im dieting at the moment and so far i have lost 26lbs :) well when food came up i really wanted to do something that represented this, but lacked motivation and insperation.

Monkeh was disapointed that he was unable to stick to his diet and resist the big bar of chocolate.

So this is my redo for food and Iam proud that unlike Monkeh i am manging to stick to my diet and resist the extra treats that pile on the pounds.

Sorry I'm so late catching up on this one. It's been a bit of a manic week.

Season: I really like this one
It's something I've been meaning to try, but just not got around to. If I don't hurry up I'll be waiting until next year :D

Very nicely executed - one of my favourites out of all the strawberry / water shots I've seen.

Food : Clever, fun and very appealing.
p.s. well done with sticking to your diet.

Season is a great capture and a clever interpretation to boot!

Sorry I'm so late...

Exposed - love the quirkyness of this one, I definatley made me smile :)

Mono - Simple but very effective - I like the texture of this as well as the colour.

Season - Lovely shot and something I am yet to attempt. I'd definately be happy if I could replicate your shot

Food #2 - A definate improvement on your first shot imo - and weel done for sticking to your diet even if monkeh can't. I really like the DOF you've used - it really makes the most of the BG.

ok well this wass fun :D

Started off wanting to take a picture of a dirty white van with clean me on the back, but the vans round here were all too clean :(

So i went searching for some grunge and this is what i found

not at home this weekend which is why the link is not clickable and the pic doesn't have my border etc, so i might replace it with one that does when i get home.

thanks for looking.

Yes that looks like grunge to me...

Trouble is nobody has said any of the grunge shots are of there home's...

Strange how we all got to go and look for this grunge...

Fits the theme Toothie so well done...

Very grungy Ruth, I like the comp on that, the angles make it.

:gag: There's definitely some grunge there!

I like the composition of this - lots of good strong angles and straight lines.
I think I'd like to see a bit more PP on it though to make the angles the main attraction . . . maybe a bit of desaturation and a bit of playing in curves.

Allo! Catchup with you too :)

Season - This shot is just stunning  Yet another thing I want to try!

Grunge - Excellent again! And yet another idea I never thought of. The amount of different photos coming out of the grunge week is quite amazing. I'm loving it. Just hope I think of one myself :D

Thanks
Sarah glad you like the composition i really struggled with it tbh, there is only so intresting you can make grunge.

Ruth, I'm sorry I've neglected your thread of late - I don't know how that's happened.

So to catch up:

Season: I've never tried this - it's one of those shots that look impossible, imo. You've done a great job on it, methinks.:clap:

Food2: I think Moneh's wicked to tempt you with choccy when you're doing so well and sticking to your diet. 26lbs - wow. Big congratulations.

Grunge: Yuck - more than enough grunge for me in this one. Full marks for spotting it. :D

Jean

Wow Ruth, your season shot is fantastic

And your food reshoot is great too and very brave of you to resist the choc. Having been on numerous diets (thanks to steroids!) I know how hard it is so congratulations on the 26lbs loss :clap:

Grunge, another winner from you. I like the angle of the pipe and the diamond shape of the drain with all the gunge in it

Sometimes you make me want to give up when I see some of the fantastic shots you come up with :(

What a collection The strawberry season shot is so well done :) Beautifully timed and exposed - that worked a treat :)

And grunge - makes me want to heave :) Which I guess is a compliment :D Nicely framed

and monkeh :D always a winner :)

Well i know as usual im late with last weeks image tbh that's because I had no insperation whats so ever. I also wasn't feeling that great about my photography in general. I am hardely taking any pictures at all at the moment :(

Well when this weeks theme came up I got a little inspired and have combined the 2 themes, now this doesnt mean your only getting 1 photo infact your getting four ;)

Hope you enjoy this weeks, its Monkeh with a serious tone.

click on the picture for bigger.
Thanks for looking :)

Well I'm breaking my own rules here by looking at your friendship shot before I've taken mine

Absolutely great idea! I love the sentiment behind it and the pictures illustrate the story perfectly.
Fun and quirky but with a serious undertone that's bang on theme for both respect and friendship.

It's only when I viewed this larger that I realised just how good these photos are. Lovely composition in all of them and a great use of dof in 1 and 2 to focus your eye just where it needs to be.

:clap::clap::clap:

I have the same rule... but I have a shot for friendship so I thought I'd have a look see... I really like that, very clever Ruth, the shots support the story so well :clap: And both themes covered brilliantly.

you are going to hate me :(

i don't like it, it feels too much like a sermon but then it sounds like a difficult theme this week

however, the photos are great :)

Dont hate you at all, and tbh your probely right to some extent but finding a simple story to fit both themes wasn't all that easy. Glad you like the photos though :)

Well done...for fitting the two together...works for me...:clap::clap:

You went to a lot of trouble to get this to work so well...brilliant...

Excellent Grunge and excellent Respect/friendship. top marks :)

Very clever. Nice interpretation of 2 themes there. And photos are perfectly composed too. Nice work :)

Extremely clever and tells the true meaning of friendship. I really enjoy looking at these story boards that you construct with your photos. Top work as always mate :)
