Yes
Anyone got any experience of these things -

I am soon going to need to replace my SSD in both laptop and desktoppc's and this fills me with dread despite people saying it is easy.
Both my machines are getting old and the drives are filling up - I want to try to prepare by getting new and bigger SSD's and cloning them. I can then keep the drives safely until such times as I have a failure or just need more space. Something like this looks like it will allow me to update the new drives every month or whatever with ease.
The time spent doing a full OS reinstall doesn't appeal either..

I've used similar devices. Yes it will clone you drives without problems.

Thanks redsnappa.
A second question which may be totally stupid, but just to check, cloning a hard drive means that all the programs etc will be fully functional on the new HD ?
Wouldn't this potentially cause problems with software that was bought for a specific computer ?
I know little about such things but Windows always used to be difficult and had to be verified by calling Microsoft if replacing a HD or other components, so surely cloning could cause the same sort of problems, or have things moved on since then ?
