Not for the feint-hearted but the bees knees ... This One

Three small leather tool rolls (used to belong to my late grandfather) - all my techie tools are in them.

My "proper" tools are all in (colour coded) 20" cantilever toolboxes - blue for screwdrivers, green for spanners, red for hammers, black for all the specialist "other" tools (squares, levels, etc)

This is all I use: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Tool-Repair-42-1-Screw-Driver-set-Macbook-hard-disk-door-/260900157382 If you haven't got one, just buy one. It is amazing for the money and you won't ever need another small screwdriver set again (I bought it when I neded a small Torx bit - this one starts at T3 and runs to T20 as well as all the usual blades, 7 small nuts and some weird shaped heads too. It's also the only set I've seen with a flexible shaft so you can undo screws in awkward places.

Oh - and the box of assorted cables under the stairs ;)

150 x 110 x 25 mm

Almost pocketable. One extra thing to say is the screwdriver has an extremely powerful magnet in it. I've not dropped/misinserted a screw since I've had it. Quite the opposite in fact, it'll pick up several screws if you're not careful! Put it this way, even Ms arad85 was impressed and reckoned it was way more than £7 (her first guess was £20+) and she views tools as boys toys to be derided every time one is purchased.

PS. I've just moved to 80/20 broadband so am building my own router from an Atom board. That makes 10 PCs in the house now ;) :geek:

Thanks for that, Andy, been looking for a flexy like that for a wee while, now bought!

I don't have a separate toolkit for assembling computers, just find a plus screwdriver and pliers from my normal kit and they cover just about everything. I'm yet to encounter torx or security screws in any PC, but the only branded kit I ever work on is Dell and across a dozen or so at home and at work it's all standard screw heads.

I do have a box with a krone tool, RJ45 crimp tool and cable tester on my study desk, but that's for domestic infrastructure projects and not building PCs.

I use the toolkit for fixing all sorts. Have replaced batteries in both a satnav and Archos and they needed small screwdrivers to get in. Basically, anything where you'd need a set of jewellers screwdrivers that set is perfect.

Glad you like it Neil. Thought you would ;) :D

some dell servers have torx in places, so do some macs so but its best to be prepared :D

krone tool is a good shout though

Some dell and hp towers have torx screws in places, though usually they have a slot cutout so you can use a flat screwdriver on them

:)

i especially like the spring loaded lid and the way it tilts all of the heads :geek:
Me too ;) A lot of thought has gone into that £7.

As I say, everyone should have one.
