Hi - sorry another question. When i use a tool in CS 4 (say the crop or clone), how do i reset the tools once finished? for example i no longer want to use the crop tool now that ive finished with it but everytime i cursor over the image which i want to drag onto another it keeps trying to crop it rather than drag it! its frustrating. lol. in elements i always pressed escaped and it worked but not in CS4! thanks:)

thanks Chaz - when i do this is it only moves a small square of the whole border that im trying to drag on top of my image. do i need to select a size of what im moving maybe? sorry but i thought i could just drag the whole lot!

it would be hard to remember every keyboard shortcut in ps, but there are a few that are a must.

The V key, selects the 'moVe' tool
The Space bar, gives you the hand tool temporarily, so you can move about in your pic,
Double click the zoom tool to view at 100%
Double click the hand tool to fit the pic to your window.

In CS4, in you press and hold any of the tools shortcut keys, when you let go, you will go back to your previously selected tool.

Your second point, sounds like you must have a selected area, goto select menu, choose Deselect, or press ctrl-D, then the move tool will drag the whole pic (layer).

liking the space bar option, never done that before :) got pretty much all the rest of them down but thats an ace use for the space bar!
