Edit My Images
Yes
Hi, I have a Nikon d300. I think I have it set up pretty right but my Photolab Guy Keeps saying "why are my images so small" I assume he is talking the amount of mb used . Where on the camera can I change this ? The results have always looked good to me, but I think its more credit to his skills than mine.
Thanks Bob

Reset brings you to NORMAL JPG. Once reset, Some immediately change their preferred QUAL setting: BASIC. Do this by pressing the QUAL button on the top and spinning the rear dial one click to the right. This shows as L and BASIC on the top LCD. L stands for Large image size (4,256 x 2,832 pixels) and BASIC JPG compression.

For most people and family pictures, 12MP is way too much. 12 MP makes great 20 x 30" (50x75cm) prints. 6MP is enough even for great 12 x 18" prints, so none Togs usually shoot at M image size (3,182 x 2,120 pixels). To change the image size, hold the QUAL button and move the front dial one click to the right. You'll see the L change to an M on the top LCD or in your case set it to L.

presumably this just applies if you're shooting jpeg images, as raw would all be the same size?

On my 50D you can also vary the size of the raw image. I always shoot in the largest size raw and then process down to the size I want. If I then want a larger size image at a later date I can go back and process again.
