Is there a way on my tomtom sat nav that i can save a destination that i have visited.Im going round North Uist on a trip then over the following days i will be spending more time at the locations i find. All i want is for me to find a suitable location and save this into the sat nav--remembering some of the roads wont have names etc on them...

On my Tom Tom, I can just save it as a favourite whilst your still at the location and then give it a name.

With the Garmin if you go back to the main screen once you are at a particular spot, you go to the " Where am I " icon, it comes up with grid refference details etc. You then just save that location under whatever name you wish to give it.

I use a tomtom for work (multiple locations, some new, some I have visited before.) I have created a folder in "points of interest" called "work", and whenever I get to a new work site I save it via "my location" in to that folder with a name I will recognise. (Sometimes the address/postcode we are given is incorrect so with this method I can always get back to that site.)
I also have another folder called "togging stuff" which I use for storing wildlife siteings etc in.

I'll bet it tells the OP everything he needs to know in the unit's manual! Well worth digesting - full of useful information.

That's a dangerously sensible suggestion, careful :D

Managed to stop myself just saying RTFM, though! ;)

In some cases that would be good, but how do you know he hasn't acquired the unit without box or manual?

temperance and goodwill to all*

until they show themselves as being a nugget :p

Most manuals are available on the interweb somewhere - Google is his friend!
:)

Without a model number, can any advice be specific enough to his sat-nav to be of real help?

Yeah, Smartphones are great but do have their limitations! Sorry if I sounded unsympathetic - it wasn't intentional, it's just that so many questions here have the answers in the manuals but users find it easier to ask on forums rather than spens a little time doing the necessary research!

Hope you manage to pick up even more helpful tips from your recent download. :)
